How to: Use the Pack and Go Wizard to package a presentation.
Solution:
Open the presentation and select 'Pack and Go...' from the 'File' menu.
NOTE: At any time during 'Pack And Go', click 'Cancel' to cancel the packaging, click 'Back' to return to the previous step, or click 'Finish' to end the Wizard without answering the questions in the remaining steps.
To package a presentation using the 'Pack and Go' Wizard:
1) Open PowerPoint 95.
2) Open the desired presentation.
3) Select the 'File' menu and select 'Pack And Go...'. (The 'Pack And Go Wizard' dialog box appears.)
4) Click 'Next'.
5) Do one of the following to select the presentation to package:
a) If the presentation to be packaged is open, select its radio button.
b) If the presentation to be packaged is not open:
1] Select the 'Other presentations' radio button.
2] Click 'Browse...', select the presentation, and click 'Select'.
NOTE: The presentation currently open is selected by default.
6) Click 'Next'.
7) Insert a BLANK diskette into the desired drive (drive A or B).
8) Do one of the following to specify on which drive to put the presentation:
NOTE: Drive A is selected by default.
a) If the drive where the diskette is inserted appears, select its radio button.
b) If the desired drive does not appear:
1] Select the 'Choose Destination' radio button.
2] Click 'Browse...', specify the directory, and click select.
9) Click 'Next'.
10) (Optional) Select the 'Include Linked Files' check box to include in the packaging any linked files used in the presentation that the remote computer may not have access to.
11) (Optional) Select the 'Embed TrueType Fonts' check box to include in the packaging any fonts used in the presentation that the remote computer may not have access to.
12) Click 'Next'.
13) (Optional) To show a slide show on a computer that does not have PowerPoint installed, select the 'Include PowerPoint Viewer' check box.
14) Click 'Next'. (The final step in the Pack And Go Wizard appears.)
15) To end the Wizard and package the presentation, click 'Finish'. (The Pack And Go Status dialog box appears. The Pack And Go Wizard saves and compresses the presentation onto one or more blank diskettes. If more diskettes are needed, the Wizard gives a prompt to insert a blank diskette.)
16) When the 'Pack And Go Status' dialog box disappears and the Wizard is finished packaging the presentation, remove the diskette. The presentation can now be shown on another computer by using the Microsoft PowerPoint Viewer.
